Farnes Sea Kayaking Long Week-end: 25-28 April

Super long weekend based out of Budle Bay.  Weather was kind to us, and although a touch blowy with swell the first couple of days.  First day was the regular afternoon trip to Dunstanburgh Castle and back from Beadnell.  Next day some of the group did Spittal Beach to Eyemouth one way, with others in the group choosing the Tweed estuary paddle up to the Chain Bridge and back. Shel enjoyed a cake (Thank you Ellen) and Fizz to celebrate her birthday (don't ask which).
it calmed down a bit more on Sunday and we had a coastal trip out and back to North Sunderland from Beadnell, trying to keep sheltered from the relatively strong SW winds.  Finally on Monday we enjoyed a glorious trip to the inner Farne with all the arriving bird life (minus Arctic terns - which we were just ahead of...).  Trip back had a bit of a roller coaster in the channel with the very strong spring tide.  What is not to like!
Sorry to those of you who couldn't get on the trip - which booked up in four hours.  Hopefully we'll have other things for you later in the year..
