Oban Sea Kayak Race - K2 Challenge

Alan and Alistair battled it out in different K2 pairings for this race last weekend.  
Conditions were the most challenging ever for this 20 Km race round Kerrara which has been running annually since 2010.  
Alistair and Kevin Locke in the Fyne Boats Kit boat won the duel even though the conditions had blown their rear hatch and by the end the back of the boat was virtually underwater!  
Hats off to my partner Michael Yeomans in the front of the Sipre Svellbard who managed to hold his nerve - only his fourth time on the sea and some big breaking waves to contend across Castle Bay and then at Chaos Corner as it is known!
Great atmosphere with some very competitive racing as well as a lot of more leisurly touring and fancy dress approaches !  Highly recommended....
